Building peace is that alternative, a commitment guided by ethical principles, chastened by the lessons of history, and embodied in the experience of practical peacemaking.

Gifts-in-Kind: Historic Treasures and Furnishings:

Remember AMP as you sort through your family mementos. Letters, journals, photos, portraits, memos, books, posters, buttons, etc. that relate to peace and the quest for peace within and in community, at home and abroad, are vital to AMP’s growth.  Remember AMP as you clear.  Basic furnishings such as file cabinets, bookshelves, desks, etc may be just what is needed.  If not, the income received from their sale can become part of AMP’s endowment fund.

Smile.Amazon:

If you shop Amazon, shop smile.amazon.com and designate American Museum of Peace Inc as your charity of choice.  Amazon will donate 0.5% of your purchase price to AMP.

Monthly Giving:

Maximize your support for AMP by becoming a monthly giver today. As a monthly giver, your Membership benefits never expire and membership includes a full-year of complimentary participation in AMP onsite events.

Stocks, Bonds, Real Estate and Non-Cash Property Gifts:

Donating non-cash property may be the right choice for you.  Consider stocks, bonds or even land that you own as an alternative to giving cash.  Non-cash property enables you to support AMP while conserving cash for other uses.  Often donating stocks, bonds or even land produces greater tax savings than gifts of cash.

Be AMP’s eyes and ears:

AMP is a national museum and aims to exhibit American peace history and initiatives throughout this vast land.  Keep an eye out for American peace history and help to expand AMPeaceTours.

Listen for stories of past and present efforts to foster peace.  Send AMP your summaries with all pertinent information to help us research and authenticate the stories.  Contribute photos, videos and other memorabilia with a signed “release-to-use” memo.

Become an AMP reporter.

Send AMP accounts of your family, friends and neighbors who have lived and worked to advance peace.  Your relevant stories, photos, videos, news clips and biographies will help to expand AMP’s collection and AMP’s America’s Peacemakers series.  Help expand AMP’s collection and database.  Send AMP recommendations of quotes, resources and other historic peace-related references.

Foster Peace:

One of the most valuable ways to support AMP is to be an instrument of peace.  Your calming presence, smile or helping hand; your personal commitment to be loving, appreciative, honest, compassionate, kind and just will advance peace in ways one cannot foresee.

We don't have to engage in grand, heroic actions to participate in the process of change.  Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.

Howard Zinn (1922 - 2010)
